Noted for its outstanding natural beauty, the Breton village of
Huelgoat is part of the Monts d’Arree National Park in
central Finisterre; about an hour from Roscoff ferry port, 25 minutes from the Channel beaches
and 45 minutes from the breathtaking Crozon Peninsular and the beaches of the
Atlantic Coast.
Try and find a house situated within easy walking distance of Huelgoat’s lively
village centre, with its many bars, restaurants, creperies, market, supermarkets and
shops.
Huelgoat is amongst the most picturesque villages in Brittany, having a
very pretty lake, unique walks amongst giant boulders left over from the ice ages, a canal-side
walk, a waterfall and an old silver-mine and is surrounded by dense forests with well
marked trails. There is an open air pool, open in the school holidays.
Driving in Huelgoat and around Brittany could not be easier. Visitors always comment about
the lack of traffic and the excellent car parking which is generally free.
The beautiful channel beaches are approximately 25 minutes drive
and the Atlantic coast beaches approximately 45 minutes drive.
